International oil prices rose Tuesday to close at $40.65 a barrel in New York
Light crude for August delivery rose 83 cents, or 2.08 percent, to settle at $40.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery in London rose $1.11, or 2.64 per cent, to settle at $43.14 a barrel.
