U. S. oil prices are expected to hit a four-year low this summer
American drivers are expected to pay the cheapest gasoline price in four years this summer, AAA said Thursday.
The association said in its report that it expects the national average to approach $2.25 a gallon in the third quarter, down 15% from $2.66 a gallon last summer, making gas the cheapest summer since 2016.
AAA also said it expects Americans to make 707 million trips this summer (July 1 to September 30), down 14.6 percent from the same period last year.
