International oil prices plummeted 11 Days after the New York market closed at $36.34 a barrel

 

New York, June 11 (Xinhua) -- International oil prices plunged Thursday amid fears that a second coVID-19 outbreak could threaten the economic recovery.
 
Light crude for July delivery fell $3.26, or 8.23%, to $36.34 a barrel by the end of the day on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London Brent crude for August delivery fell $3.18, or 7.62%, to settle at $38.55 a barrel.
 
With the cumulative number of confirmed coVID-19 cases in the US topping 2 million and the number of new cases rising significantly in several states that had previously restarted their economies, the market began to worry that the economic recovery would be hit by a second wave of the epidemic.
