The Northern Section Of The China-Russia East Line Natural Gas Pipeline From Heihe in Heilongjiang Province to Changling in Jilin Province Is Completed
The last welding joint of the northern section of the China-Russia East line natural gas pipeline project was completed on Oct. 16, marking the completion of the entire section from Heihe in Heilongjiang Province to Changling in Jilin Province.
It is learnt that the construction of the China-Russia eastern line natural gas pipeline project has been started since June 2015. In the north, heihe city in Heilongjiang Province is connected with the Siberian Power pipeline in Russia. It is divided into three sections, namely the north, middle and south sections. The northern section of the project starts from Heihe River to Changling, Jilin province, with a total length of 1067 kilometers. At present, the natural gas pipeline with the largest diameter, highest steel grade and maximum pressure in China is adopted, and the welding process requirements are extremely strict. In order to ensure that all welding joints are safe, 100% automatic welding process is adopted in the line section.
The natural gas pipeline project of the Eastern route between China and Russia is the largest long - term natural gas pipeline project in China.
The project spanned 84 counties, cities and districts of nine provinces including Heihe, Jilin, Mongolia and Liao, and finally reached Shanghai Baihe Station. After commissioning, stations along the route will be able to read real-time data transmitted by the Russian operator via optical signals transmitted from valve No. 0 in Heihe. At present, the no. 0 valve chamber has been completely constructed and has the air inlet conditions from the Russian Measuring station of The Russian Siberian Power pipeline to the first station of Heihe.
Jiang Changliang, party secretary and general manager of CNPC, said the project is scheduled to receive Russian gas on December 1 and will import 5 billion cubic meters of gas in the first year. Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, Beijing and other provinces will directly benefit from the operation of this project, and contribute to the natural gas supply protection in northeast China and The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
It is reported that the total length of the natural gas pipeline of the Eastern route between China and Russia is 5,111 km, of which 3,371 km is newly built and 1,740 km is in service. When fully put into operation, it will stably deliver 38 billion cubic meters of clean energy each year, making it China's third transnational long term natural gas pipeline after the Central Asia pipeline and the China-Myanmar pipeline.
