International oil prices fell on The 17th New York market closed at $37.96 per barrel
New York, June 17 (Xinhua) -- International oil prices fell Tuesday as U.S. commercial crude inventories unexpectedly rose month-on-month last week.
Light crude for July delivery fell 42 cents, or 1.09 percent, to settle at $37.96 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London Brent crude for August delivery fell 25 cents, or 0.61%, to settle at $40.71 a barrel.
Us commercial crude oil inventories stood at 539.3 million barrels last week, up 1.2 million barrels from the previous month, according to data released by the US Energy Information Administration on Monday. The market had expected a drop of 3.5 million barrels.
