International oil prices rose more than 5% to close at $39.55 a barrel in New York

 
New York, June 5 (Xinhua) -- International oil prices rose more than 5% on Friday.
 
Light crude for July delivery rose $2.14, or 5.72%, to settle at $39.55 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. London Brent crude for August delivery rose $2.31, or 5.78 per cent, to settle at $42.30 a barrel.
